Family‑run company creating bikinis crafted from hand-printed sarongs in Bali.
our inspiration
First drop !
Made in Bali with 100% woven cotton, our First Drop offers hand silk-screened bikinis with matching sarongs.
The cotton sarong has traditionally been everyday wear for the people of Bali, wrapped around the hips as a skirt, or the bust as a dress.
Today, these colorfully printed traditional sarongs are being replaced by Western clothing. This collection was created to preserve their beauty and cultural heritage.
Cut from the same sarongs offered separately, each bikini is entirely one of a kind.
These pieces are thoughtfully made in small batches in collaboration with women-led companies in Bali.
Designed for those who value individuality, craftsmanship, and timeless style.
Made in Bali from carefully chosen, hand silk-screened cotton woven sarongs, the Kelley Bikini is fully lined for comfort and opacity. Designed for leisure and resort wear, it’s adjustable for size, style, and coverage. Playful and intentional, with a handcrafted touch.
The “Kelley Bikini” comes with its own petite “Pochette” carrying pouch, made from the same sarong fabric.
NOT YOUR average bikini
Frenchicans has taken the classic 70’s string bikini and the traditional cotton sarong of Bali to make something new and unique. No two pieces are alike.
Each bikini has adjustable ties for style, fit, and comfort: designed to be worn low on the hips or high above, for adjusting the top and bottom for more or less coverage for tanning, to fit you, your sister, your cousin, your mom, or your best friend.
Meant for slow days at the beach or by the pool, not performance, not sport, but leisure, sun, and faire néant.
who we are
Frenchicans began as an idea more than twenty years ago. Our mother, a fashion designer living in Paris, traveled to Bali and fell in love with their sarongs.
Growing up, we wrapped our bodies in these fabrics as they became part of our everyday life, used them as blankets during naps and wore them to the beach as cover-ups.
Today, that story continues through a family‑run company shaped between Bali, France, and the U.S. We work closely with our makers, use 100% cotton hand silk-screened sarongs chosen for their colours and print designs, and produce in small, intentional runs.
What you see here is the beginning of something rooted in memory, craft, and care.
